Welcome to 1st Grade!

Welcome to 1^st grade and Room 27!  I am so excited to have your child in my class this year.  I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I live in Homewood with my husband Vito and three children, Victoria, Eliana, and Leo.   I enjoy living in Homewood and all that it has to offer families.  I taught Kindergarten and 1^st grade for nine years before staying home to start a family.   I came back to the field of education in 2008 and worked for five years as Willow’s Pre-K Parent Education Coordinator.  I knew that when I went back to teaching it would be in 1^st grade, so six years ago I was so happy to accept a 1^st grade teaching position here at Willow School!

My goal is to provide your child with a nurturing learning environment where all students will learn and be successful.   I will often refer to our 1^st grade classroom as our 1^st grade family.  We will learn to be friends, help each other, and solve problems together.  I believe my role as your child’s teacher is to help your child grow academically as well as socially and emotionally.
