Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am so excited that YOU will be a part of Room 24 this year, and I am THRILLED to be your teacher!

About me…

My name is Ms. Martin, parents feel free to call me Shannon!  This will be my 26th year teaching. I spent many years as a Kindergarten teacher, and this is my 7th  year teaching first grade. I have a 12 1/2-year-old son named Cooper. He is a 7th  Grade student at James Hart. Coop is an awesome guy who keeps me extremely busy!! We have 2 cats, named Rose and Holly. We’ve lived in Homewood for almost 11 years and are proud to call Homewood home. I love to read books on my Kindle, shop at Amazon, HomeGoods, and Ulta; I enjoy cooking and make a lot of soups! Coop and I love to eat at Panera, Chick-fil-a, and Jimmy Johns. I love peanut butter M&M’s and Snickers, they help me keep my figure, LOL!

About Room 24…

Our classroom is filled with fun and lots of learning. We spend a lot of time working on our reading and math skills, but we also spend a lot of time singing, playing, and having fun! We have a llama theme in our classroom, and I refer to my student’s as “Learning Llamas”.  J
